Tom Harmer, Driver/Trainer since 1964 has been in the horse business all his life. In his 43 years in the business, Tom experienced many equipment failures due to wheel breakage, bike breakage and bike miss-alignment. His love for his horses had always been his primary concern and never put much emphasis on the equipment. He decided it was time to produce a wheel that would out perform any other.

Tom researched the wheel industry in hopes of finding a wheel that was durable enough to be used on a horse racing sulky. He contacted Aerospoke, a bicycle wheel manufacturer who currently produces a 5-spoke injected wheel for cycling. With much research and development, a wheel was produced made specifically for horse racing and Tom went out on a muddy track to try them out. The wheels performance surpassed any other he had used in the course of his experience.

The next problem he was facing was his bike was not tracking right and measured out of line. He measured about ten bikes, and they were all out of line.

Now we have a good strong wheel, with a new challenge of trying to find a strong, straight bike to use with them.

Ed Giroux, Aerospoke’s president, told Tom he could also build a bike that would run as true as the wheels. Approximately one year later, the Evolution Racing bike, “AdvantEdge Pro 2” made its debut.

We now have a super strong true wheel and a spectacular bike with a perfect combination of materials and design.
